Today we celebrate Maulidur Rasul for year 2010, 12nd Rabiul Awal. This is the day where we celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.
The theme or slogan of the Maulidur Rasul celebration for 2010 is; "Insan Cemerlang Ummah Terbilang". Semoga dapat kita melahirkan ramai insan-insan yg cemerlang berguna utk agama, bangsa dan negara.

This type of question is very common. I got asked quite a few times by the non-muslims, few times when I was in US, and other times was here, when I taught in local private college, where the majority of the students and lecturers are Chinese and foreigners.
Wearing tudungs are compulsory for muslimahs. We wear tudungs because our creator, Allah told us so, and it is for our own benefits. Allah knows best. We wear tudungs not beacause our father, hubby or brother asked us to, but because we know it is a direction from Allah and because we want to.
I remembered when I was a kid, my father used to brag me about wearing tudung, and I refused to wear. When we went for outing, he won't let me got into the car unless I wore my hijab first. He forced me to wear tudungs, but at the same time, he kept explaining why muslim women need to wear tudungs. Later, I understood and willingly wearing the Hijab. Thus when I went to US to further my study, I had no difficulty in keep wearing the tudungs. I got quite few friends who took off the tudungs when they were in US, I guess they did not understand the reason behind it.
We don't wear Hijab all the times, we wear it only when there are men who are not directly relatives to us are around (hubby, father, brother and uncles are okay). For complete list, can refer to Surah an-Nur, ayah 31. We wear the Hijab, to protect ourselves from indecent acts or thoughts.
For me, I feel modest, and more confidence when I covered up. I feel that I have more self-respect(of course, this should be earned, not only by how you looks, but also by how you react or speak of your mind). Some people might say, Muslim women has less freedom because we need to wear Hijab, but men don't. Well, in my opinion, when we women, wear less, isn't we degraded ourselves. It draws more criticism and attention. We should be equal in rights, and justice, and not on our body image.
In addition, for Muslim women, the Hijab should cover our head (no jambul, please.. hehe), neck and chest. Just my 2 cents..
These are some tudungs for the 3rd batch. The awnings are half awning, there are two lengths available, medium length (42 cm from chin) and the versi labuh, ~ 54 cm. The awning is the ala tudung munawwarah and tudung ariani style, with some adjustments, to make it more like HusNazirah Collection, hehe. As usual the fabric used are all high quality fabric. Currently I'm still sewing some tudungs for the 3rd batch, hmm tak habis2 lagi. I have a lot of kains that I bought to be made to my baju kurung, but haven't got the time to sew it, coz too buzy finishing the tudungs. Ada yg dah order tu, tunggu ye.. busy sikit, InsyaAllah, another 1 week siap kot.. hopefully.
Last 2 weeks my palm smartphone stop working, tiba2 cannot ON. Now I'm stuck with my old handphone. I'm so used to the smartphone that I felt awkward using the old handphone, so I've been searching for other smartphone in local shops and online. I decided to buy red blackberry, hehe, I love the colour, however the price is too expensive here(even with the current promotion by CELCOM and MAXIS), to pay RM252/month, is too much. DIGI do offer a cheaper alternative package, but unfortunately, in my place, the DIGI coverage is not good..
Thus I decided to buy online, from US. There are lot of blackberry models available, after much comparing of their features, my selection is left to blackberry curve 8330 and blackberry bold 9700. Blackberry storm is good, but I don't like the touchscreen, my hubby do though. Between the two, I decide to buy blackberry 8330, due to the price of course, 8330 model is much cheaper n affordable.
I think I got a good price for it. Now, I can't wait for it to arrive here, hehe..
